This policy explains what data iCalcDesk Blog (blog.icalcdesk.com) collects, why, and who processes it. We keep it short because we collect very little.

The Short Version

  • We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking scripts on this blog.
  • We do not store anything in your browser (no localStorage or sessionStorage).
  • Data is collected only if you use the AI chat widget or post a comment.
  • We do not sell your data.

Cookies and Tracking

This blog does not set cookies and does not load analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Because of this, we do not show a cookie banner. Our CDN and security provider, Cloudflare, may set its own technical cookies for security purposes in some situations; these are not used by us for tracking.

AI Finance Assistant (Chat Widget)

When you ask a question in the AI widget:

  • Your question is sent from our server to Google's Gemini API to generate an answer, and to find the most relevant article on this blog.
  • Your question text, the article suggested, and a timestamp are stored in our database (Supabase) so we can improve the assistant and the blog. We do not store your IP address or any account details with chat questions.
  • Please do not enter personal, financial account, or other sensitive information into the chat.

Google processes your question under its own terms and privacy policy. Answers are for general information and are not financial advice.

Comments

If you post a comment, we collect the name, email address and message you submit. Comments are stored in our database (Supabase) and we receive an email notification when a comment is posted or reported. Only your name and message are shown publicly on the article page; your email address is never displayed. You can use the Report button to flag a comment.

Server Logs and Security

Like most websites, our web server and Cloudflare process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use this to keep the site secure, prevent abuse and limit excessive requests.
